How To Effectively Compare Upgrades as an Affliction Warlock
Due to the simplicity of determining upgrades with a simulation in thecurrent game era, we recommend using the popular Raidbots tool todecide which pieces of gear offer the most potential for your character. Themain reason why this is a considerable advantage is due to the vast number ofvariables that differ from character to character, such as Stat Quotients andScale Factors.
The Top Gear function can be handy, as it allows you to comparemultiple items and item types to find the best combination of upgrades.
Learning to use the tools available will allow you to reach the most accurateconclusions with the least effort. It is highly recommended that you availyourself of these tools, which will serve you well when evaluating items.
3.
Droptimizer
The Droptimizer feature from Raidbots lets you identify which dungeons and Raid Bossesyou should spend your Bonus Rolls on. It simulates all of the potential upgradesin a raid or a dungeon, and lists the bosses/dungeons by rank order of how muchDPS you can expect to gain from bonus rolling on it. We have a guide for it thatyou can access using the link below.

With Season 4 Fated raids providing 3 different raids worth of high itemlevel loot, alongside crafted gear and Mythic+ sources it can be difficult toprioritize where to allocate the limited amount of Awakened Crests, and isinstead a path that originates from what gear has been acquired eachweek.
Listed Below are some guidelines defining the importance of each individualupgrades:
- Embellishment offers the most reliable upgrades, coming from crafteditems and offering good scaling for those effects;
- High stat tier pieces (Helm, Chest, Legs);
- Weapons and trinket, which for the most part are tied to Amirdrassilweeks.
For more information on the new Gear Upgrades system, check out our dedicatedpage for it below.

Mythic+ Gear BiS List for Affliction Warlock
The following list contains gear exclusively from Mythic+ Dungeons andCrafted items and, therefore, is aimed at those who have no access to raidingdue to various reasons.
Lastly, the latest tier set is taken into account, as it is the foundationfor the whole gearing process. In situations where the Catalyst is not yetavailable, consider running the previous tier 4 pieces, as it should stillprovide more DPS than a higher item level equivalent without set bonuses.

Crafted Gear & Embellishments
The newly revamped crafting system gives players access to an alternateavenue of gearing, one which offers unique embellishment, which is limitedto two equipped at any time.
Spark of Awakening will remain the main limiting factor when craftinghigh-end gear, as it can be acquired once every two weeks by combiningtwo
Splintered Spark of Awakening and 250
Flightstones.
At the start of a tier, it will be possible to craft two pieces (the firstfrom the initial quest and the second from the initial bi-weeklyreward).
It is essential to understand that your individual crafting strategydepends heavily on the kind of progress and therefore drops available, thespeed at which you progress through the content and whatever drop you canobtain early. As a result, there will not be a single best path, insteadlisted below will be some guidelines:
The best option in single target remains Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch to proc
Seal of Diurna's Chosenand
Blue Silken Lining.
For multitarget and Mythic+, some degrees of variety are retained however, offering the choice between Blue Silken Liningand
Allied Wristguards of Time Dilation,with
Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch still offering the single targetdamage increase.

Tier Set for Affliction Warlock
In Dragonflight season 4 Affliction Warlock sees the return ofSeason 3 tier set with the following bonuses:
Warlock Affliction 10.2 Class Set 2pc:
Soul Rot deals 15%additional damage and lasts 4 seconds longer.
Warlock Affliction 10.2 Class Set 4pc
Soul Rot causes yournext 3 casts of
Malefic Rapture within 12 seconds to deal 50%increased damage and extend the duration ofyour
Agony,
Corruption,
Unstable Affliction,
Haunt,
Vile Taint and
Phantom Singularity by 2 seconds.
Since both bonuses work around Soul Rot, the talent is a requirementalongside the supporting talents, but the rotation does not changesmeaningfully beside a bigger emphasis on
Malefic Rapture inmultitarget as a mean to extend current dots.
It is important to note that achievingthe Warlock Affliction 10.2 Class Set 4pc is a higher gain than having the set onthe sub-optimal slots.
That said, the ideal setup has the Shoulders as the offset piece due asuboptimal stat distribution.

Weapons for Affliction Warlock
Two weapons stand out, and both are staves: Final Gradeand
Dreambinder, Loom of the Great Cycle, dropping respectivelyfrom Algeth'ar Academy and Nymuein Amirdrassil.
6.4.
Trinkets for Affliction Warlock
Due to the prevalence of high item level trinkets via Mythic+, raiding, andPvP, there are various suitable options for trinkets. It is always best to useRaidbots Top Gear todetermine what your optimal trinkets are.
From Raids Nymue's Unraveling Spindleand
Belor'relos, the Suncaller are the overall best trinkets.
From dungeons any combinationof Tome of Unstable Power,
Furious Ragefeather,
Idol of Pure Decay,
Spoils of Neltharus and
Umbrelskul's Fractured Heart willwork.
